Angela Anaconda is the main protagonist of the television series Angela Anaconda.

Biography[]

Angela is tomboyish, clever and often has vivid imaginations involving her enemies and friends alike. Her main hobbies are playing sports (hockey in particular), daydreaming and hanging out with her friends. Despite being the least feminine of the girls, she isn't completely devoid of a girly side. For example, she regularly wears a dress, she enjoys hand mirrors and raspberry lipgloss, a common thing that girls had in the early 2000s. She is from a lower middle class or working poor family, which likely is the motivation for Nanette's cruel treatment of her.

She speaks in a raspy, high-pitched Southern accent which strangely, none of her family members have (aside from her grandma Lou). Her most prominent catchphrase is "in account of".

Relationships[]

Johnny Abatti[]

Johnny is one of Angela's best friends. They are both the toughest of Team Angela and both have an interest in race cars[1] and monster trucks.[2]

Although he won’t admit it, Johnny is sometimes shown to have feelings for Angela, as he becomes resentful to any rivalry for her affection. In one episode, he sends Angela flowers but forgets to sign the card, so the credit for his gift goes to Angela's imaginary boyfriend, Bob.

In the cartoon's pilots (the KaBlam! Shorts), this affection is reversed. Angela was the one crushing on him here, while he seemed to have feelings for Nanette.

Gordy Rhinehart[]

Gordy is also in Angela's friend group. They have many differences; Gordy is a sensitive geek who has feminine interests like flowers and poetry, while Angela is rather tough and fond of physical activity. Nonetheless, they are very good friends. In one episode, Gordy even confides in her about his crush on Gina, although her attempt at helping him only made things worse for him unintentionally.

Gina Lash[]

Gina is the only other girl in Angela's friend group aside from Angela herself and is often considered to be her best friend. While Angela is rambunctious and more of tomboyish, Gina is more girly (though not to the extent of Nanette) and is the sensible voice of reason.

Nicky Abatti[]

Angela considers Nicky to be "cool" and they have a neutral (but slightly more positive) relationship. Nicky has taken Johnny and his friends (including Angela) around town.

Carmella Abatti[]

They don't have many interactions, but Angela loves to eat at Abatti's Pizza.

Nanette Manoir[]

Nanette Manoir is Angela's arch-nemesis. They hate each other and will scheme, cheat, and compete to make the other one as miserable as possible. Most of Angela's fantasies involve Nanette being tormented and injured. In the pilots, she was her romantic rival for Johnny's affection.

January Cole and Karlene Trainor[]

Being Nanette's sidekicks and followers, Angela dislikes them as well. She doesn't have many interactions with them.

Miss Yamagotchi[]

They have a neutral (but slightly more positive) relationship. Miss Yamagotchi is more okay with Angela borrowing books than Nanette, as Nanette puts the books on her head for balancing, which gets hair gel in it. They don't have much in common.

Mark and Derek Anaconda[]

Mark and Derek are Angela's older brothers. They have many interactions, since they live in the same house. Angela often refers to them as her "dumb brothers", and is annoyed by their constant bullying and teasing. However, they do have some hobbies/traits in common, such as being rambunctious and loving physical activity.

Bill Anaconda[]

Angela gets along very well with her father Bill. Bill often shows Angela his inventions, which Angela is intrigued by. He has also taken her to events such as the annual Tapwater Springs Square Dancing competition.

Geneva Anaconda[]

They have a neutral relationship. Angela's mother, Geneva, is stern but caring towards her oldest daughter. In Boo Who?, we find out that Geneva used to make handmade Halloween costumes for Angela, which always lead to Angela being humiliated by Nanette, until Angela bought a store-bought costume.

Lulu Anaconda[]

Being a baby, Lulu doesn't have much in common with Angela yet. She also gets on Angela's nerves a lot for messing with her stuff.

Mrs. Brinks[]

Mrs. Brinks is Angela's core teacher. She is unusually cruel to Angela, due to Nanette's blackmailing and scheming to make Angela look bad.

However, in one episode it is shown that, when Nanette is missing from school, Mrs. Brinks likes to give Angela the same preferential treatment in her stead.

Appearance[]

Angela Anaconda has medium-length, reddish brown (auburn) hair and freckles. She wears an orange dress (opposed to a plaid skirt), a white t-shirt underneath it (opposed to sleeved stripes), white socks, and brown loafers.
